I always say that I don't like anon memes. But saying you don't like anon memes is the same as saying you don't like a certain type of fanfic -- as soon as you say it, someone posts one that rocks and you have to EAT YOUR WORDS.

And, well, I remembered that there is a type of anon meme that I love.

I love fandom. I love 'shipper wars. I love meta. I love fanfic. I love crack!fic. I love BNFs and the lesser-known fans. I love kerfluffles because the root of most is passion for the shows, the characters. I love BtVS/AtS. I love the people I've met through these shows, some of them my closest friends I could ever hope to have. I love the fact that these people, this group of fans, can connect through a story about a young girl and her friends.

I love LJ. I love the silly, random posts to the most intelligent, thought-provoking essays on life, politics, religion, etc. I love the community interactions, the feeling that while you might feel like an outside in real life, here you are welcome with open arms. I love how accepting LJ is. No matter your kinks, your preferences, your likes or dislikes, you can find kindred souls here.

I love how I'm not alone in this crazy whirl-a-gig known as fandom.

I love how unbelievably surprised I was to be the first topic of love! That honestly made me cry! *smooches you all*

I love that no matter what else is going on in my life, I can't stay away from LJ for very long because of the people that have become as important to me as the people in RL.

I love that even though some of our beloved shows aired their last episodes years ago, we still adore them as much as we did then. And, that new shows continue to bring people together!

I pretty much accidentally fell into the Supernatural fandom because I read one of [info]estrella30's j2 fics, and then devoured (no pun intended) everything to do with jensen ackles and jared padalecki since then.

I'm too shy to comment or give feedback to any of the authors, but there are a whole heap of them who's work I greatly enjoy. I tend to lurk, I guess you could say. A consequence of that is my brain's first reaction to Chad Michael Murray now is : MAYHEM. and of course, PADDYWHACK SAYS (fill in the blank).

Also: The sudden interest in country music, ie KANE.

it seems silly, but yeah, many hearts.

Danny (http://winterlive.livejournal.com) gets crazy love for being one of the nicest people in fandom. Not everyone is that gentle with the noobies, and she deserves such a gold star for that. Oh, and yeah, she writes some really really good fic, but whatever. We love her for being her awezome self most of all.

cee (http://traveller.livejournal.com) is just cee. Danny's icon (http://www.livejournal.com/userpic/40850166/1296805) says it all. She's wonderful, and I am in awe of her patience with the fangirls and the bitchery and wanking that sometimes springs up. Oh, and of course, she's got more talent in her left thumbnail than most people have in their entire bodies. I'm always worried that I'm going to sound like a freak when I comment to her, but she's always so gracious and nice. It's amazing, that's what it is, just like her.

Kassie (http://ethrosdemon.livejournal.com) is just. Um. Fucking crazycakes? That might describe it. But the BEST kind of crazycakes, and I think that she and cee might be responsible for more people listening to country music these days than any other source of media. I know that I'd never have heard of Kane if not for her, and I would be a sad sad puppy were that the case, emo tears and all. But yes, music, PADDYWACK, and porn. Kassie rocks, and rocks hard.


Also, I'd like to point out that Wren (http://wrenlet.livejournal.com) is a perfect sweetheart, and I kinda adore her to bits, and am very glad to have met her. :D Wren, you rock my mismatched socks, you hear me? Good. People like you make the supernatural fandom SUCH the coolest sandbox on the playground, and that's saying something.

[info]traveller for being fantastically talented and writing stories that actually make me feel something. For possibly being the most straight-forward and unguarded person in their lj ever, and for having a natural way with words that makes me green with envy. For being lovely and gracious on the, liek, two occasions I flailed spastically at her talked to her.

[info]estrella30 for being sweet and caring and completely unabashed about the fact that she's every bit as nuts as fangirls. Every time I want to squee over something long and hard and at a pitch that only dogs can hear, but don't because I'm worried about looking like an idiot, I remember that Nan totally would and that I'm far from being the craziest person around, and then I feel all warm and fuzzy inside. She makes fandom a better place by continuously raising the bar for helpless flailing and that's why I love her. Because we all need a little more flapping and flailing and hearts and gold stars in our lives, if you ask me.

[info]winterlive for loving Max, because anybody who loves Max can't be a bad person. For *hands* and for writing things like "By The Letter" because that story alone is one of my most beloved in SPN fandom.
